Legionella is a bacteria responsible for causing Legionnaire's Disease as well as many other respiratory problems. The most common form of contact is through water and has direct effect on our airways and lungs. The bacteria thrives in warm, stagnant water but it can survive under a wide range of temperatures (20° to 50°C), pH and dissolved oxygen levels. Due to this, only an accurate analysis of the water can determine the presence of this microorganism.

Is treated water subject to the risk of biological contaminants?
The disinfection procedure carried out during the water treatment process aims at the inactivation of pathogenic biological agents. However, high biological demand, lack of control in the dosage of disinfectants and contamination of the water in the distribution network by contact with sewage are some of the factors that lead to the persistence of these contaminants in water even after treatment.
Can the customer send the sample in their own bottle, since they already have the water bottled?
This is not allowed and would change the result of the analysis. Our bottles are pre-prepared under ideal conditions for the storage and transportion of the sample so that it does not undergo any changes in its content.
